Tributes Pour in for Veteran Actor Taiwo Hassan Ògògó

Taiwo Hassan, a veteran actor popularly known as Ògògó, died on August 23, 2026, at the age of 66. His family had disclosed his health condition shortly before his passing, appealing for medical assistance, including traditional treatment, after a hospital allegedly refused to treat him.

Colleagues in Lagos gathered to pray for him and urged anyone with information about qualified specialists to assist his family. His daughters expressed desperation to secure appropriate treatment.

For over four decades, Hassan was a respected figure in Yoruba cinema and a co-founder of the Odunfa Caucus, contributing significantly to the industry.
