Falconets to Learn World Cup Opponents This Friday

The Nigeria U-20 women's football team, known as the Falconets, will discover their opponents for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Poland during a draw scheduled for Friday. The team, coached by Mose Aduku, secured their place in the tournament after a 3-2 aggregate victory over the Malawi women's national U-20 football team, winning the first leg 2-0 and losing the return leg 2-1.

Kelechi Omek, the team administrator, will represent the Falconets at the draw, which will take place at the EC1 Cultural Centre in Nigeria. The tournament will feature 24 teams, including representatives from Africa, Europe, Asia, North and Central America, South America, and Oceania, and is set to occur from September 5 to 27, 2026, in Polish cities including Katowice, Sosnowiec, and Bielsko-Biała.

The Falconets have been drawn into pot 2 alongside teams such as the USA, Canada, and Colombia.
