Enugu Police Arrest Three Suspects, Recover Firearm

On March 15, 2023, at approximately 10:30 AM, the Enugu State Police Command conducted a patrol operation along the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, where they intercepted an unregistered tricycle. During a thorough search, police recovered a double-barrel pistol from the two occupants, identified as Ugochukwu Samuel, 26, and Kevin Kosichukwu, 26, who were promptly detained.

Additionally, police officers on stop-and-search duty along Nsukka Road in Orba intercepted a motorcycle carrying two young men. One of the riders, Chinedu Harrison, 17, fled into nearby bushes but was later apprehended.

During interrogation, he confessed to being a member of a cult group, and six rounds of 9mm live ammunition were recovered from him. The police are continuing efforts to detain other accomplices, and the suspects will be arraigned upon the conclusion of the investigation.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mamman Giwa, commended the proactive actions of the police and urged residents to support their efforts.
