11 Suspects Arraigned Over Murder of Arise TV Journalist in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arraigned 11 suspects in connection with the murder of Arise TV journalist Somtochukwu Maduagwu and a security guard, Barnaba Danlami, during a robbery in Abuja. The suspects, including Shamsu Hassan and others, face charges of criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, and murder.

Preliminary investigations revealed a syndicate procuring firearms from across Nigeria and the Niger border. Police spokesperson Josephin Adeh condemned the killings as senseless acts of violence.

The suspects confessed to participating in the robbery operation.
