Ondo Police Arrest 13 Over APC Ward Congress Attack

The Ondo State Police Command announced the arrest of 13 suspects linked to an attack during the APC ward congress in Idanre, which occurred on Wednesday and resulted in the tragic loss of two lives and injuries to three individuals. The arrests were made following a carefully coordinated intelligence-led operation directed by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal.

DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the police spokesperson, stated that the command is committed to identifying and bringing the perpetrators of this heinous act to justice. The suspects, aged between 25 and 55, are currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the attack.

CP Lawal expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, which has significantly strengthened the command's capacity to respond to security challenges in the state. He warned that the police would not hesitate to deploy full operational capacity to deal decisively with any threats to public peace.
