Ogun Police Arrest 146 Suspects in Sagamu Operation

On April 13, 2026, the Ogun State Police Command conducted a special raid, codenamed "Operation Keep Sagamu Safe," resulting in the arrest of 146 suspects. This operation was part of efforts to curb crime and maintain public order in Sagamu.

Led by the Sagamu Area Command, the operation involved collaboration with various security agencies and local stakeholders, including traditional rulers and the local government council. The police noted that the operation was designed to prevent a breakdown of law and order and to reinforce safety across the area.

Personnel from the Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps, Amotekun Corps, and community security groups participated in the operation. The suspects are currently undergoing screening to determine their involvement in criminal activities, and those found culpable will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Abeokuta for further investigation and legal action.

Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni commended the collaboration among security agencies, emphasizing the commitment to intelligence-led policing to ensure peace and security in the state.
