Police Arrest Two Suspected 'One Chance' Robbers in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command arrested two suspects, Ademola Ibrahim and Raheem Lawal, who are alleged members of a notorious 'one chance' robbery syndicate involved in robbing unsuspecting passengers across Lagos State. The suspects were apprehended during a routine stop and search operation along Iyana Ipaja Road.

Police officers intercepted a tricycle carrying three occupants and discovered three stolen Android phones in their possession. The tricycle rider attempted to flee but abandoned the vehicle.

Ibrahim was arrested immediately, and during interrogation, he confessed to being part of the robbery syndicate that targets commuters for valuables, particularly mobile phones, in areas including Idimu, Iyana Ipaja, Egbeda, and Dopemu. Further investigations led to the identification of the fleeing tricycle rider, Raheem Lawal, aged 26.

The police recovered the tricycle, which bore the registration number SMK 309 QP, and confirmed that two victims had previously reported incidents of robbery involving the suspects. The police reaffirmed their commitment to tackling robbery and violent crime in the state.
