Kano Police Arrest 345 Suspected Thugs and Drug Dealers

The Kano State Police conducted a statewide crackdown from June 5 to 7, resulting in the arrest of 345 suspected thugs and drug dealers. The operation, led by Commissioner Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, aimed to dismantle criminal networks and disrupt the distribution of illicit drugs across the state.

The police targeted 44 local government areas based on intelligence that identified black spots for criminal activities and drug distribution points. During the operation, 187 suspects were apprehended over three days, with others arrested in earlier raids.

The police recovered 270 dangerous weapons, including knives, cutlasses, and clubs, along with large quantities of illicit substances such as cannabis sativa, Exol tablets, and a local brew known as "suck die." Bakori emphasized the commitment of the Kano State Police to maintain pressure on criminal activities and assured the public that suspects would face due process. He commended the Kano State government for its support and urged residents to continue sharing information with the police.
