Police Arrest Five Pakistanis for Suspicious Activities

On August 4 and 5, 2026, the Benue State Police Command arrested five Pakistani nationals in separate operations in Otukpo LGA and Okpokwu LGA. Police Public Relations Officer DSP Peter Aondongu reported that three suspects—Younas Mohammad (36), Ahmad Nunil (38), and Aslam Muhammad (46)—were apprehended at Adoka motor park while attempting to board a vehicle to Adoka village.

They claimed to be in the area to market cosmetics and mobile gadgets, but no such items were found. The following day, Juma Sharif (30) and Muhammed Sharif (25) were arrested at a local hotel in Ugbokolo, claiming to deal in Android phones.

A search revealed 11 Tecno Camon 50 Pro mobile phones, with further investigation leading to the recovery of 23 additional phones and one Infinix Hot 60, totaling 35 mobile phones. The suspects were transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Makurdi for further investigation into their activities and presence in the state.
