Police Arrest Five Pakistanis for Suspicious Activities

The Benue State Police Command arrested five Pakistani nationals on August 4 and 5, 2026, for suspected clandestine activities in rural parts of Otukpo and Okpokwu Local Government Areas. Police Public Relations Officer DSP Peter Aondongu reported that the arrests followed credible intelligence regarding the suspects' movements.

Three suspects—Younas Mohammad (36), Ahmad Nunil (38), and Aslam Muhammad (46)—were apprehended at Adoka motor park while attempting to board a vehicle to Adoka village. They claimed to be marketing cosmetics and mobile gadgets, but no such items were found.

The following day, two additional suspects, Juma Sharif (30) and Muhammed Sharif (25), were arrested at a local hotel in Ugbokolo, where they claimed to be dealers in Android phones. A search yielded 11 Tecno Camon 50 Pro mobile phones, with further investigation leading to the recovery of 23 more Tecno phones and one Infinix Hot 60, totaling 35 mobile phones.

The suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Makurdi for further investigation into their activities.
