Oyo Police Arrest Two for N12 Million Diesel Theft

The Oyo State Police Command arrested two suspects, Yusuf Mutiyat, a 43-year-old female, and Ogunniyan Rashe, a 64-year-old male, for their alleged involvement in the theft of diesel valued at N12 million. According to a statement from the police's public relations officer, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, the suspects were intercepted while allegedly siphoning diesel from a mixer truck.

The investigation is ongoing to determine the full extent of the theft and identify other individuals involved in the crime. A subsequent search led to the recovery of various items linked to the suspects' criminal activities, including 24 barrels containing approximately 240 liters of diesel, totaling an estimated 10,000 liters.

The suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue. DSP Ayanlade emphasized the importance of public cooperation in providing actionable intelligence to combat crime and prevent further losses.
