Oyo Police Arrest Armed Robbery Suspects, Dismissed Army Officers in Ibadan

The Oyo State Police Command announced the arrest of two armed robbery suspects in Ibadan, identified as David Okhai and Balogun Afolabi, who were dismissed Nigerian Army officers. The suspects, aged 48 and 43 respectively, were accused of impersonating army captains to rob members of the public at gunpoint, causing fear and disrupting public peace within the state.

The police operation led to the recovery of stolen vehicles, including a Toyota Camry, Toyota Corolla, Lexus RX 350, and a Super Cargo motorcycle. The suspects specialized in dispossessing individuals of their vehicles through force.

The police command urged anyone who has lost a vehicle to theft to come forward with valid proof of ownership to claim their recovered vehicles. The command reiterated its commitment to combating violent crime and ensuring the safety of lives and properties in Oyo State.
