Oyo Police Kill Two Bandits in Foiled Attack on Village

The Oyo State Police Command successfully foiled a planned attack on Eleb Village, Aleniboro, by suspected bandits, resulting in the death of two individuals during a gun duel. The operation was led by DSP Olayinka Ayanlad and was prompted by credible information from a good Samaritan.

The police learned that ten armed men had concealed themselves in a farm settlement within Eleb Village, armed with two AK-47 rifles, a single-barrel gun, and a locally made pistol. Upon identifying the suspects' hideout, police officers collaborated with members of the Agbekoya local hunters to swiftly mobilize and advance on the location.

During the ensuing gunfire, two bandits were neutralized, while others escaped with bullet wounds. A subsequent search of the area led to the recovery of a locally made pistol, empty cartridges, and two live cartridges of 7.62mm AK-47 ammunition.
