Police Arrest Five in Kebbi for 'One-Chance' Robbery

The Nigeria Police Force arrested five suspects involved in a 'one-chance' robbery syndicate operating in Kebbi State. The suspects, identified as Abubakar Muhammad, Bancho, Shehu Ango, Shamsu Daudu, Shuaibu Umar, and Aisha Usmanu, were apprehended during coordinated security operations across various local government areas, including Birnin Kebbi, Kalgo, Jega, Maiyama, and Aliero.

The syndicate allegedly posed as commercial vehicle operators to lure unsuspecting passengers, robbing them at knifepoint and abandoning them in isolated areas. Police investigations revealed that the gang had withdrawn 1 million Naira from a victim's bank account and demanded ransom for the victim's release.

On April 30, 2026, the group attacked a female passenger named Shamsiyya Samaila, stealing her Infinix Android phone, power bank, charger, and ATM card, from which they allegedly withdrew 9,000 Naira. The police continue to investigate the syndicate's involvement in multiple robberies and kidnappings along highways, urging the public to avoid suspicious vehicles.
