Five Arrested for Kidnapping Schoolchildren in Ondo

On Thursday, the Ondo State Police Command announced the arrest of five suspects linked to the abduction of two schoolchildren, Jehu (10) and Yohana (5), in the Jerri Sawmil area on May 12, 2026. The suspects, identified as Taofeek Lukman (23), Bless Saturdai (27), Peter Mose (25), Sundai Isaac (23), and Sanusi Dan Asab (37), were apprehended by the Special Anti-Kidnap Squad following intelligence-led operations.

The children's father, Andrew Yohana, reported the incident to the police at 9:00 AM, prompting an immediate investigation. The police utilized technical intelligence to track and analyze the suspects, leading to the arrest of Lukman and Saturdai in the Alaba area.

Further investigations revealed three additional suspects. The police recovered N251,000, believed to be part of the ransom paid by the victims' family for their release.

The Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Felix Ohagwu, commended the operation and reaffirmed the command's commitment to combating kidnapping and violent crime in the state.
