Bauchi Police Arrest Five for Burglary and Cannabis

The Bauchi State Police Command arrested five suspects in separate operations for alleged burglary and possession of suspected cannabis. The Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) made the arrests during routine patrols in Bauchi metropolis.

On August 3, 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m., police intercepted a tricycle in Doya Quarters, leading to the arrest of Sadiq Abdullahi, 27, Muhammad Suleman, 18, and tricycle rider Aliyu Abubakar, 21. The police recovered stolen items including four boxes of assorted shoes, clothes, jewelry, a 6kg gas cylinder, a 32-inch LG flat-screen television, and a tabletop gas cooker.

The suspects confessed to conspiring with an accomplice, Nanu, who remains at large. In a separate operation on the same day, two additional suspects, Mansur Sani, 25, and Umar Muhammad, 30, were arrested for exchanging parcels of suspected cannabis.

Investigations are ongoing to apprehend Nanu and identify the cannabis supplier, with plans to charge the suspects in court upon completion of investigations.
