Bauchi Police Arrest Three for Armed Robbery and Murder

The Bauchi State Police Command arrested three suspects linked to an armed robbery and murder case in Gwaram Town, Alkaleri Local Government Area. The suspects were identified as Muhammad Umar, also known as Jijji, aged 25, who was apprehended on June 19, 2026, while in possession of a motorcycle belonging to the deceased victim.

During interrogation, Umar allegedly confessed to the crime and named two accomplices, Usman M. Gidado, aged 45, and Danladi Yakubu, alias Pagaj, aged 35.

The investigation began following a report lodged at the Alkaleri Division Police Headquarters on March 7, 2026. The police recovered the motorcycle as an exhibit during the operation.

The suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and will be charged in court. Sani Omolori Aliyu, the police spokesperson, commended the operation's diligence and professionalism, assuring residents of the command's commitment to combating violent crime and ensuring justice for victims.
