Police Arrest Five Aye Cult Members in Lagos Operation

On Tuesday, the Lagos State Police Command announced the arrest of five suspected members of the Aye cult during a routine stop-and-search operation along the Ago-Festac Bridge. The suspects, identified as Emmanuel John (24), David Godwin (28), Samuel Owubokiri (25), Adetona Seyi (20), and David Chigozi (25), were apprehended in a Toyota Camry XLE.

During the police search, officers recovered various items, including hard drugs, military camouflage, two machetes, a battle axe, a knife, 500 SIM cards, five mobile phones, five laptops, and other charms. Two of the suspects confessed during preliminary interrogation that they were members of the Aye confraternity.

The operation was led by CP Tijani Fatai, who reaffirmed the command's commitment to tackling cultism and violent crime across the state and urged residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information to support crime prevention efforts.
