Lagos Police Arrest Five Cultists in Apapa Ijora Badia

On Saturday, the Lagos State Police Command arrested five suspects allegedly linked to violent criminal activities in the Apapa Ijora Badia area. The operation, conducted by the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU), was based on intelligence that led to the discovery of a gang hideout.

The principal suspect, Abubakar Ayomid, 25, also known as Garbazin, was apprehended alongside four other members: Tanko Yusuf, 23; Ahm Abibu, 24; Abubakar Shafi, 23; and Fatai Moham, 25. During the operation, police recovered a battle axe, two knives, a hammer, and substances believed to be Indian hemp, along with items suspected to be criminal charms.

The principal suspect confessed to being a member of the Aiy confraternity. Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, emphasized the commitment to dismantling cult groups and violent crime networks, urging residents to provide credible information to aid police efforts.
