Police Rescue Five Kidnap Victims on Benin-Ore Road

On Friday, following a gun battle, the Nigeria Police Force, in collaboration with Ogun Command, successfully rescued five victims who had been kidnapped along the Benin-Ore Road. The victims were reportedly abducted on Thursday while traveling from Benin to Ibadan, with three Sienna buses involved in the kidnapping.

The incident triggered an immediate response from law enforcement agencies due to rising insecurity along the Benin-Ore corridor, which has seen repeated attacks by criminal gangs. A joint task force launched a coordinated operation after receiving intelligence on the kidnappers' movements.

During the operation, police engaged the kidnappers in a fierce gun duel deep inside the forest, leading to the successful rescue of the five victims. The kidnappers reportedly retreated into the bush, and police efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects to ensure their arrest.
