Police Arrest Five Suspected Kidnappers in Bauchi

On June 2, 2026, armed men invaded Kwarin Gadali hamlet in Pali District, Alkaleri Local Government Area, Bauchi State, abducting a 40-year-old woman and her 25-year-old son. Following the incident, the Bauchi State Police Command launched an intelligence-led operation.

The police, under the spokesperson Nafiu Habib, reported that a joint security team, including police personnel and soldiers, was deployed to the scene. They arrested three suspects identified as Mainasara Umaru (23), Buba Umaru (20), and Muhammadu Usman (19) in Kuka village, Duguri District.

On June 3, two additional suspects were apprehended, with one allegedly confessing knowledge of the victims' location. The victims were successfully rescued unharmed and taken to a general hospital in Alkaleri for medical examination.

The suspects are currently in custody, and the case has been transferred to the anti-kidnap unit for further investigation.
