Four Arrested in Katsina Mob Killing of Ibrahim Auwal

The Katsina State Police Command announced the arrest of four suspects linked to the mob killing of Ibrahim Auwal in Kokami Village, Danja Local Government Area, which occurred on April 2, 2026. The incident was triggered by a dispute that led to Auwal being allegedly stabbed to death.

Following the stabbing, a mob responded violently, resulting in Auwal's death. The police were deployed immediately to the scene to restore calm and ensure the safety of the affected families.

The Commissioner of Police, Abubakar Aliyu, condemned the incident and urged residents to refrain from taking the law into their own hands, emphasizing the importance of reporting issues to the nearest police station. The police assured that a thorough investigation would be conducted to ensure justice, and the suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.
