Delta Police Arrest Four Suspected Cultists in Delta

On April 11, 2026, the Delta State Police Command arrested four suspected cultists during an operation aimed at disrupting cult initiation activities in the Orokpoko Local Government Area. The operation, known as Delta Shield, involved surveillance patrols that led to the interception of the suspects.

One of the arrested individuals was identified as Peter Onajit, aged 32. A search conducted on the suspects resulted in the recovery of a locally made double-barrel cut-size pistol, two live cartridges, and sachets of tramadol, an illicit drug.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects confessed to being members of the Juri confraternity. Bright Edaf, the spokesman for the Delta State Police Command, confirmed the incident on Monday, stating that the suspects are currently in custody and that investigations are ongoing.
