Delta Police Arrest Four Suspected Robbers in Ughelli

The Delta State Police Command arrested four suspected armed robbers during a sting operation in Ughelli. The operation was initiated following numerous complaints from residents about a criminal syndicate known for attacking victims and inflicting injuries with cutlasses while stealing motorcycles.

The police spokesman, Bright Edaf, confirmed the arrests in a statement made available to journalists in Warri on Monday. The suspects were identified as Surajo Atar (25) from Bigal Village, Gada Local Government Area, Sokoto State; Abba Musa (24) from Madara Village, Danbatta Local Government Area, Kano State; Babangida Yusuf (25) from Hamdullahi Village, Albasu Local Government Area, Kano State; and Abdurashe Shafiu (31), who was arrested for receiving stolen motorcycles.

The police recovered items including a cutlass and a black mask believed to be used in their criminal activities. Commissioner of Police Yemi Oyeniyi assured the public that investigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the syndicate and recover stolen property.
