Police Arrest Suspects After Machete Parade in Lekki

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested several suspects identified as hoodlums after a viral video circulated showing armed youths parading with machetes and cutlasses, causing panic along a major road in the Lekki area of Lagos. The chaotic scene, captured in the video, depicted young men disrupting traffic in broad daylight, which sparked outrage and concern among residents regarding safety in one of the city's busiest corridors.

In response to the situation, the police swiftly moved to contain the unrest and restore order. Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed that the security operation was part of a targeted intervention following the incident.

The police have launched a rapid investigation and sting operation, leading to the successful identification and arrest of the suspects. Wahab assured law-abiding citizens that their safety and property would be guaranteed as part of ongoing efforts to maintain law and order across the state.
