Ondo Police Arrest Landlady for Allegedly Poisoning Tenant's Child

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a woman, Nafisat Lateef, for allegedly poisoning a three-year-old boy in the Odigbo Local Government Area. The arrest followed an incident on February 4, 2026, where the 40-year-old suspect reportedly gave the victim, identified as Abdulrashe, a liquid substance that led to poisoning.

The suspect allegedly committed the offense following an argument with the victim's mother, Rofiat. After consuming the substance, the child began vomiting, prompting immediate medical attention at a nearby hospital.

Police investigations revealed that the suspect had poisoned the child during a misunderstanding. The liquid substance used for the poisoning was recovered during the investigation.

The suspect is currently in police custody and is expected to face charges in court upon the conclusion of the inquiry.
