Six Arrested After Machete Attack in Katsina Community

The Katsina State Police Command arrested six suspects in connection with a machete attack that occurred in Keku Village, Musawa Local Government Area. The incident, which took place on Wednesday, resulted in varying degrees of injury to several residents.

The police received reports of the attack around 2:00 PM and responded swiftly, leading to the arrest of the suspects identified as Dayyabu Salisu (25), Usama Mansur (23), Yunusa Nura (27), Abdulmumini Alka (23), Buhari Suleiman (27), and Abubakar Safiyanu (27). Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects conspired to disrupt peace during the Sallah celebrations, leading to a breach of public order.

The police recovered a machete and a motorcycle as exhibits. Victims of the attack were rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment.

The Commissioner of Police, Ali Umar Fage, condemned the attack and assured the public of the command's commitment to protecting lives and property, urging residents to remain calm and report any suspicious activities.
