Man Arrested for Selling Expired Powdered Milk in Katsina

On June 14, 2026, the Katsina State Police Command arrested Ibrahim Moh D in Funtua Local Government Area for allegedly selling expired powdered milk. A surveillance patrol team from the Makera Division intercepted him based on intelligence reports.

At the time of his arrest, he possessed ten bags of powdered milk, which preliminary investigations indicated were unfit for human consumption. The police stated that the suspect was fully aware of the toxic nature of the compromised product, which he had deliberately mixed with genuine stock and repackaged to deceive the public.

The police recovered the product as evidence, and Ibrahim Moh D remains in custody as investigations continue. He is expected to be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

The actions of the suspect violate sections 152 and 154 of the Penal Code Law 2021, which prohibit the sale of adulterated and harmful food items. Ali Fage, the Commissioner of Police for Katsina State, warned traders against practices that endanger public health.
