Ogun Police Arrest Man with Human Head and Palms

On April 17, 2026, the Ogun State Police Command arrested 43-year-old Idowu Ashafa in Igbesa, Ogun State, for allegedly possessing a fresh human head and two human palms concealed in a nylon bag. The arrest was made during a routine patrol led by CSP Solotan K.

Owolabi, under the supervision of ACP Folashad Tanaruno. Preliminary investigations suggest that Ashafa may have exhumed the remains from a grave in Ido Itakun Village for ritual purposes.

The police spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed the details in a statement issued on Saturday, emphasizing the commitment of the police to tackle crime in the state. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation, and residents have been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies.
