Six Arrested in Ondo for ₦71 Million Fraud Scheme

The Ondo State Police Command arrested six suspects in Ibadan on Sunday, following an investigation into a fraud case involving the illegal sale of three heavy-duty vehicles valued at ₦71 million. The suspects include Adeola Kolawol (56), Alhaji Gani Bello (73), Oladoja Akeem (56), Wasiu Adigun (55), Azeez Yusuf (49), and Ojo Mudasiru (40).

The case was reported on May 22, 2026, by Paul Aderemi, who had entrusted the vehicles to Kolawol under an agreement. However, the vehicles were allegedly sold without authorization, prompting Aderemi to report the matter to the police.

Following credible intelligence, the police commenced a thorough investigation, leading to Kolawol's arrest, who subsequently confessed to selling the vehicles and provided information that helped track down the other suspects. All six suspects have reportedly confessed to their involvement in the fraudulent activities and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
