Ogun Police Arrest Six in Major Crime Crackdown

The Ogun State Police Command conducted operations that led to the arrest of six suspects involved in criminal networks across Abeokuta, Wasimi, and Ibafo. The operation, which was part of a broader initiative to combat violent crime, resulted in the recovery of firearms, including a pump-action rifle and a local fabric pistol, as well as five stolen mobile phones.

The suspects arrested include Afisu Awesu, Bala Aminu, Moruf Sodiq (also known as Okiki Mumuni), Amodu (alias Stone), Abayomi John (alias Ibafo), and Adeboy Ojesina. The police stated that Moruf Sodiq was linked to a general theft syndicate operating in the Abeokuta area.

Additionally, Adeboy Ojesina was arrested on June 12 for unlawful possession of a firearm, allegedly used to threaten residents. The police also uncovered a vehicle parts theft network following a complaint received on June 13.

The suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.
