Osun Herdsman Yahaya Sulaiman Regains Freedom After Ransom

Yahaya Sulaiman, a Fulani herdsman, was abducted in Ijebu Jesa, Osun State, at approximately 9 PM on a Monday. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of N70 million for his release.

Following the incident, Sulaiman regained his freedom on Thursday after an undisclosed amount of ransom was paid. During the investigation, police arrested a suspect connected to the abduction, who was found in possession of firearms and ammunition.

Sulaiman was immediately taken to the hospital upon his release. Abiodun Ojelabi, the public relations officer of the Osun Police Command, confirmed the rescue and the arrest of the suspect.

The police source, who preferred to remain anonymous for security reasons, provided updates during an interview, indicating that the abduction was targeted, as the gunmen specifically inquired about Sulaiman's whereabouts in the neighborhood.
