Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested with Live Cartridges in Anambra
On Monday, operatives of the Anambra State Police Command, specifically from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Awkuzu, arrested a 49-year-old armed robbery suspect named Chima Ogumba. The arrest took place on Nkpor Road in Idemili North Local Government Area.
During the operation, the police recovered a Pump Action Gun and 50 live cartridges from Ogumba. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Anambra State Command, Tochukwu Ikenga (SP), disclosed these details in a press statement released to journalists on Tuesday.
Ikenga stated that the operatives conducted a search on the suspect, which led to the recovery of the firearm and ammunition. Ogumba was unable to provide a satisfactory and reasonable account for his possession of the gun and cartridges.
