Ogun Police Arrest Three Suspected Cultists, Seize Guns

The Ogun State Police Command conducted a series of operations from April 14 to April 18, 2026, resulting in the arrest of three suspected cultists and the recovery of firearms. On April 14, 2026, a 36-year-old suspect named Opeyemi Anuoluwapo was arrested at Mow after police acted on credible intelligence regarding suspicious individuals loitering around a bus stop.

During the search, police recovered a locally made single-barrel pistol and cartridges. Anuoluwapo confessed to being a member of the Eiye confraternity.

On April 17, 2026, officers intercepted a motorcycle along the Sagamu-Ogijo road, leading to the arrest of 30-year-old Asay Ajibola, who was found with a locally made single-barrel gun and nine cartridges. The third arrest occurred on April 18, 2026, when 49-year-old Adedeji Olufemi was apprehended with a locally made double-barrel gun and eight cartridges.

All suspects were transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation and possible prosecution. Ogun State Police Commissioner Bode Ojajuni commended the operations as professional and proactive.
