Police Arrest Cultist and Recover Firearm in Imo State

On March 21, 2026, police operatives from the Imo State Police Command arrested a 26-year-old male suspect named Bright Chidi, who is believed to be a member of the Vike confraternity cult group. The arrest occurred following credible intelligence regarding suspicious movements along Old Neked Road in Owerri West LGA.

According to a press statement issued by the command's spokesman, DSP Henri Okoy, the police acted swiftly on the intelligence, apprehending Chidi and recovering a locally made single-barrel pistol along with live cartridges during a search. Preliminary interrogation revealed Chidi's affiliation with the cult group, which is linked to violent criminal activities in the state.
