Ogun Police Arrest Three Armed Suspects in Raids

The Ogun State Police Command conducted a series of operations resulting in the arrest of three armed suspects between April 14 and April 18, 2026. The first arrest occurred on April 14, 2026, at 16:30 hours in Mow, where 36-year-old Opeyemi Anuoluwapo was apprehended after police received credible intelligence about suspicious individuals loitering around a bus stop.

A search led to the recovery of a locally made single-barrel pistol and cartridges. During interrogation, Anuoluwapo confessed to being a member of a confraternity.

The second arrest took place on April 17, 2026, when the Quick Response Squad intercepted a motorcycle along Lafarg axis of Sagamu-Ogijo Road, leading to the arrest of 30-year-old Asay Ajibola, who was found with a locally made single-barrel gun loaded with nine cartridges. The third arrest occurred on April 18, 2026, involving 49-year-old Adedeji Olufemi, who was found with a locally made double-barrel gun and eight cartridges.

All suspects were transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
