Police Arrest Three Armed Robbery Suspects in Anambra

On March 21, 2026, the Anambra State Police Command arrested three suspects linked to armed robbery and cult activities during an operation in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area. The suspects, identified as Franci Chukwuka Anen (46), Emmanuel Obi (29), and Okoy Chinonso (35), were apprehended based on credible intelligence.

The police operation, conducted by the Rapid Response Squad Awkuzu, resulted in the recovery of a stolen petrol tanker, two locally made Beretta pistols, and four rounds of live 9 mm ammunition. Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects may be members of a criminal syndicate involved in armed robbery, kidnapping, and terrorism in the Ogidi area.
