Three Armed Robbers Arrested, Stolen Tanker Recovered in Anambra

On March 21, 2026, the Anambra State Police Command arrested three suspected armed robbers in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area. The suspects, identified as Franci Chukwuka Anen (46 years), Emmanuel Obi (29 years), and Okoy Chinonso (35 years), were apprehended during an operation conducted by the Rapid Response Squad, based on credible intelligence.

The police recovered a stolen petrol tanker, two locally made Beretta pistols, and four rounds of live 9 mm ammunition from the suspects. Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects are members of a criminal syndicate involved in armed robberies, kidnappings, and terrorism in the Ogidi area.

Additionally, they are being investigated for their possible involvement in the gruesome murder of a late president-general in Ogidi. The police emphasized their commitment to enhancing safety and security across the state through continued operations.
