Police Arrest Three Kidnappers, Rescue Two Victims in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command arrested three suspected kidnappers—Abdullahi Abubakar, Ibrahim Abubakar, and Oseni Abubakar—in Isua-Akoko, Akoko South-East Local Government Area. The operation occurred on September 11, 2026, following credible intelligence about the kidnappers planning to collect ransom.

The police, in collaboration with the Amotekun Corps and local hunters, executed a coordinated ambush in the forest along the Ifira–Idoani axis. During the operation, the suspects, armed and numbering about four, opened fire on the security team, who successfully repelled the attack and rescued two victims, Mr. Owolabi Patrick and Asoto Dada, unharmed.

The victims later identified the suspects. Additionally, ₦1.5 million was recovered from the kidnappers' den, along with a Bajaj motorcycle linked to the operation.

Commissioner of Police Felix Ohagwu ordered the case to be transferred to the Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad in Akure for further investigation.
