Ten Kidnappers Arrested in Ondo State Ransom Operation

On Monday, Adetunji Adeleye, the Commander of the Amotekun Corps in Ondo State, announced the arrest of ten suspects involved in various criminal activities, including kidnapping. One suspect, Gambo, 27, was arrested during a ransom negotiation in the Shasha area of Akure, unaware that security operatives were monitoring the situation.

Another suspect, Murtala, 19, was apprehended with a locally made firearm after attempting to kidnap the wife of his former employer in Molege, Owo. The kidnapping attempt failed when the family raised an alarm, prompting a quick response from security operatives and local residents.

Adeleye also reported the successful rescue of a woman and her two children from suspected kidnappers following a distress call from the Isinigbo/Osi area. He commended the Fulani community for their assistance in identifying criminal elements.

Investigations revealed that one suspect confessed to planning to target his former employer’s family. The arrests reflect ongoing efforts to combat crime in Ondo State.
