Three Arrested in Bauchi Mob Killing of Two Men

On May 7, 2026, a mob attack in Bunga Hamlet, Warji Local Government Area, resulted in the deaths of two men, identified as Kabiru Idri, 30, and Ibrahim Samaila Danliti, 40. The victims were pursued by a mob while riding motorcycles, with shouts of "thief" directed at them.

They were intercepted and severely beaten, rendering them unconscious, and were subsequently rushed to a general hospital in Warji, where medical personnel confirmed their deaths. Following the incident, the Bauchi State Police Command, led by spokesman Nafiu Habib, announced the arrest of three suspects allegedly involved in the attack: Samaila Turawa, Gwada Danbaba, and Haruna Gwada, all from Ubal Mai Kaji in Ningi LGA.

The suspects are currently in custody at the State Criminal Investigation Department as police efforts continue to apprehend other fleeing members of the mob. The Commissioner of Police, Sani Omolori Aliyu, condemned the incident and called for a discreet investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the killings.
