Police Arrest Three, Seize 5,676 Illicit Drugs in Jigawa

The Jigawa State Police Command arrested three suspected drug dealers identified as Umar Rabiu, also known as Sarka, 22, from Unguwar Gamji; Auwalu Muhammad, 25, from Gusau Quarters; and Umar Akilu, 25, from Kuka Village. During intelligence-led raids across the state, the police recovered 5,676 pieces of assorted suspected illicit drugs, including 3,833 tablets of Exol, 204 tablets of tramadol, 919 tablets of diazepam, 114 capsules of pregabalin, 101 tubes of rubber solution, 30 Lara capsules, codeine syrup, two litres of ‘Suck and Die,’ and one block and 475 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

Additionally, N93,626 was recovered, believed to be proceeds from the illicit drug trade. Commissioner of Police Haruna Alaba Yahaya commended the operatives for their professionalism and warned against involvement in drug-related activities.

The suspects have been arraigned in court as part of the ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking and substance abuse in the state.
