Police Arrest 10 Suspects, Recover Cash and Livestock

On Thursday, August 13, 2026, the Jigawa State Police Command, led by Police Public Relations Officer SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, announced the arrest of 10 suspects and the recovery of significant items in a series of operations across the state. The operations, which took place in Taura, Malam Madori, Hadejia, Birniwa, Kirikasamma, and Kaugama local government areas, were prompted by credible intelligence and routine patrols.

Recovered items included two motor vehicles, six cows, a motorcycle, a sheep, counterfeit US dollars, and N1.1 million. Among the arrested individuals was Hussaini Umar, who allegedly defrauded a victim of N2.661 million by falsely claiming to supply US dollars and sending a fake credit alert of N23.57 million.

The police are continuing investigations to identify and apprehend other fleeing members of the involved criminal groups, with the suspects expected to face charges in court after the investigation concludes.
