Adamawa Police Arrest Three Suspected Shilla Gang Members

The Adamawa State Police Command announced the arrest of three suspected gang members in Yola, Adamawa State, as part of efforts to combat violent crime linked to the notorious Shilla gang. On June 12, 22-year-old Abdulmalik Moham Zango was apprehended after allegedly attacking a passenger on a commercial tricycle along Doub Bye Pass, armed with a cutlass and stealing a mobile phone.

The police intervened following an alarm raised by the victim, which led to Zango's custody. Preliminary investigations revealed connections to several theft cases in Yola.

On June 14, two additional suspects, 17-year-old Abba Abdullahi and 16-year-old Abdulrahman Saidu, were arrested during a police operation where they were found in possession of dangerous knives, allegedly intended for criminal acts at a birthday party. Adamawa State Police Commissioner Kabir Umar Hassan commended the operations and urged residents to continue supporting law enforcement with credible information.
