Ogun Police Arrest Two Suspected Cattle Rustlers

On April 30, 2026, the Ogun State Police Command arrested two suspected cattle rustlers, identified as Muham Monsur Olaseind Olatunji, during a swift response operation in the Ifo Ibogun area. The operation was initiated after a distress call from a farmer whose livestock was attacked at approximately 2:30 AM.

The suspects invaded a dairy farm in Omitoro Village and attempted to flee in a commercial minibus, known locally as "korop," but were intercepted by police following an alarm raised due to their suspicious movements. The police recovered stolen cows valued at N1.7 million and a knife believed to have been used during the operation.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects are part of a four-man gang, with two accomplices escaping into nearby bushes. Ogun State Police Commissioner Bode Ojajuni commended the swift response of the officers and reiterated the command's commitment to tackling criminal activities in the state.

Ongoing investigations aim to apprehend the fleeing gang members.
