Ogun Police Arrest Two Suspected 'One-Chance' Robbers

On August 15, the Ogun State Police Command arrested two suspects, Bidemi Tijani, 29, and Olajide Rasaq, 42, who are believed to be members of a "one-chance" robbery syndicate operating in the Abeokuta metropolis. The arrests were made following an intelligence-led operation conducted by the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU).

According to a statement from the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the suspects were apprehended after operatives received information about individuals disguised as commercial taxi operators in a vehicle heading towards Ita-Oshin, Abeokuta. Tactical operatives pursued the vehicle and successfully intercepted it.

Upon interrogation, both suspects confessed to their involvement in the robbery syndicate that targets commuters in the area. The Commissioner of Police for Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, praised the VCRU for their prompt action and reiterated the command's commitment to fighting crime in the state, urging the public to report any suspicious activities.
