Police Arrest Two Suspects in Ekiti Drug Deal

On a Wednesday, the Ekiti State Police arrested two suspects linked to an illicit drug deal in Ado Ekiti. The suspects, identified by the police public relations officer Sundai Abutu, were found in possession of a quantity of illicit drugs, including Colorado and Indian hemp.

The police also recovered an Android phone and a power bank during the operation. Following their arrest, the suspects confessed to being drug dealers, prompting the police to initiate a thorough investigation and prepare charges to be filed in court.

The arrests were part of a broader effort led by the police division in New Iyin, based on intelligence that identified the Alad Garag area as a central location for illicit drug activities. The DPO of the tactical unit, Michael Falad, emphasized ongoing raids to dismantle criminal hideouts and urged the public to collaborate with the police by providing credible information on criminal activities.
