Oyo Police Ensure Security for December 2026 Elections

The Oyo State Police Command, represented by Commissioner Abimbola Olugbenga, has assured residents of Oyo State of adequate security measures ahead of the local government elections scheduled for December 29, 2026. During a courtesy visit from the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), Olugbenga expressed the command's full preparedness to ensure the safety of lives and property during the elections.

He emphasized the importance of a peaceful environment for a fair, free, and credible electoral process, stating that the upcoming elections would not differ from previous ones. OYSIEC Chairman Afe Adeniyi, who also visited the police command, acknowledged the support received from the police during past elections and urged for continued collaboration to maintain a peaceful and intimidation-free electoral atmosphere.

Adeniyi expressed gratitude for the police's efforts and looked forward to further cooperation as the elections approach.
