Police Enhance Security for Easter Celebrations in Kano, Benue

Ahead of the Easter celebrations, police forces in Kano and Benue have implemented heightened security measures to ensure peaceful festivities. Kano's Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, extended Easter greetings to Christians and emphasized the importance of a peaceful celebration.

A statement from the police public relations office, issued on Saturday, outlined comprehensive security arrangements, including the deployment of personnel to worship centers and strategic locations. Commissioner Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa directed area command divisions to intensify security operations and maintain high vigilance throughout the festive period.

Residents were urged to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or use the emergency number. In Benue, Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu has deployed additional officers to reinforce security, with Commissioner Ifeanyi Emenari disclosing the deployment of 14 units and 250 personnel from a specialized tactical team.

The focus is on vulnerable communities and public spaces to ensure safety during the celebrations.
