Police Arrest 10 Cultists in Ondo Bomb Plot Bust

On Thursday, the Ondo State Police Command announced a significant security breakthrough, arresting 10 suspected cultists involved in an alleged bomb attack plot in Akur, Ondo State. The arrests were part of coordinated operations across the state, driven by intelligence-led efforts that have recently yielded success in combating crime.

During the operation, six suspects were apprehended in a hideout in Ok Aro, Akur, where police recovered several items, including bottles, bags, sugar charms, 17 mobile phones, two laptops, an external hard drive, identification cards, a motorcycle, a knife, and cash worth 187,000 Naira. Preliminary investigations suggested that the materials were intended for fabricating improvised explosive devices.

The suspects, identified as Adekunl Prosper (36), Ojol Midi (39), Tokp Kolaoli (40), Am Saliu (40), Bola Jadibuwal (46), and Gbadibu Abidinmi (43), were linked to a criminal syndicate operating in the area. Additionally, the police conducted separate operations that led to the arrest of 10 cult members associated with violent crimes, including a suspect known as Sea Monei, who is on the police watch list.
